Martin has a particular interest in the preparation of medical reports for legal purposes, including being appointed on the ‘Single Joint Expert’ basis. Memberships of medico legal professional bodies/associations include the EWI Expert Witness Institute, APIL the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers 1st tier APIL expert recommended by member and AvMA Action against Medical Accidents, and listed in the ‘UK Register of Expert Witnesses’ (by JS Publications). MedCo registered to provide the initial fixed cost medical report in a soft tissue injury claim, terms payable within 30 days.
Martin has provided medico-legal reports and been an expert witness for solicitors, Courts, insurance companies, employers and others – involving criminal, civil, family matters and clinical negligence. Currently writes about 180 reports per year. Court attendance is rarely required (once in the last three years). In civil cases, approximate proportions are 60% claimant, 35% defence and 5% single joint expert. In criminal cases, prosecution and defence reports are approximately equal.
Martin is also an Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital where he specialises in circumcision.
Representative of Londonwide LMCs for matters concerning coroners and death certification. Londonwide LMCs is the umbrella organisation for the capital’s 26 LMCs, offering advice and supportLondon’s 6,500 NHS GPs and ensures their representation on the BMA’s national negotiating body, the GPC (General Practitioner Committee).

TERMS & CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE PROVISION OF EXPERT SERVICES
My appointment is as The Expert to provide advice and services in accordance with the full Terms and Conditions of Engagement.
My fee for this work is £99.00 per hour, usually £495.00 per report. The fee for my report shall be payable in full within twenty one days of my report to my principal. Value added tax will not be added to my charge. Should this fee be increased for any reason (such as visiting, phlebotomy blood testing or laboratory analysis), prior written notification of such increase will be given to my principal. In particular should I be instructed to attend a court hearing, and/or to provide evidence in this case, then my additional fee for attending court shall be discussed for attendance at court on any day (including part days).
